- i have owned this unit for a year and a half now it pulls out more protiens that i have seen in a long time. i have owned 3 different ones before this one and this is the better of all three. it causes a little bubbles to go back in the tank but you can get the surface skimmer box extra for this one. it is a little noisy but not as bad as the skilters. i also would reccomend getting the collection cup with the drain because this does a lot of skimming. you can adjust the collection box higher with the o ring that fits around the collection cup for less to be taken out. it also has a adjustment on the intake for more or less air for a heavier foam easier to set up than any of the skimmers out there. this one can also be used with a mag drive 3 but would not recomend it because it can empty your tank in a fast time. i had the mag drive 3 was very hard to control so i switched to the reo and it was perfect.would buy again also easy to clean. it is regulated for up to a 125 gallon tank i use this on a 90.
